Greg Smith

Called to the B.C. bar in 1985, Greg brings decades of experience and expertise to Recovery Law Corporation. He earned a combined Bachelor of Commerce and Law Degree at UBC, and honed his talents at a large, Vancouver-based personal injury firm before starting Greg Smith Law Corporation in the mid-1990s. In 2015, he joined forces with his son, Darnell Smith, to establish Recovery Law Corporation.

As owner and senior counsel at Recovery Law, Greg works closely with clients and with the team to ensure the best possible outcome in each case. With his extensive, specialized background in ICBC and personal injury compensation law, Greg brings in-depth knowledge and experience to every situation. He truly listens to his clients, and works to meet each one’s specific needs. Inside and outside of the courtroom, Greg maintains a passion for personal injury law, and for each and every client.

Darnell Smith

Darnell has always been driven to help people; he is an active member of the Fraser Valley community, regularly volunteering for local events and programs. Darnell earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from the University of the Fraser Valley, and a Juris Doctor degree from Thompson Rivers University Faculty of Law. With his extensive business background, Darnell had significant influence in developing TRU’s Law school into the highly-sought-after program that it is today.

His professional experience includes family, estate, and real estate law, but Darnell’s passion for representing the underserved led him to a focus on personal injury/ICBC law. With his well-rounded skill set and personal values, Darnell brings a fresh, dynamic, and logical approach to every case. Clients at Recovery Law know that they can trust Darnell to support them throughout the entire process.

Manjit Kharod

Recovery Law’s legal administrative assistant, Manjit, earned her certification from Kwantlen College, and has worked with Greg Smith since 2004. Manjit looks after the needs of the the entire team, ensuring Recovery’s clients are well taken care of, and assisting the lawyers with developing strong cases. She is proud to be an integral member of the Recovery Law family, and is dedicated to the well-being of all of our clients.

Eryn Cooper

Eryn earned her certification as a legal administrative assistant from Douglas College, where she focused on Commerce and Business Administration. She has been a member of Greg Smith’s team since 2003, and her talent for organization and client services is invaluable. She has excellent communication skills and an innate ability to build strong relationships. At Recovery Law Corporation, Eryn provides for all client needs, and helps make the office run smoothly.

Sarah Braaten

Sarah joins the Recovery Law team as a legal assistant. She earned a Bachelor’s degree in Criminology from Kwantlen Polytechnic University, and is pursuing a Master’s degree at Simon Fraser University. Sarah’s work focuses on the sensitive topic of medically assisted dying as it pertains to the law. As the long-term caregiver for her grandmother, Sarah has been inspired to study the well-being and rights of the aged. Passionate about the law, she plans to become a lawyer, fighting for the rights of the more vulnerable members of our society.
